has truly one dream, and that
is to help the animals. This dream is not a dream that happened
in one day or one year but has been a life-long dream and
will continue throughout my days. My wish is that we wouldn't
have one dog or cat that is abused or abandoned. I know that
is not reality. As my friend David pointed out, "we can
only save one animal at a time".
I was asked an interesting
question the other day from a lady that was kind enough to
give a donation. She asked, "Why would you help the animals
when there are so many children that need help?" I thought
for a moment and told her that when we are helping the animals
we are also helping the children. We teach the children to
care for and love an animal that is totally helpless and dependent
upon us. If they can learn this love, they will be able to
share this love with humans and they can become better human
beings for themselves and better parents to their children
because of what they learned about caring for animals.
We need to get back to having
love in our hearts; not only for our fellow humans but for
our animal friends who through evolution have come to be dependent
on our care.
